Quality Assurance

Mass production of precision componentry requires consistency and effective quality control. Accord has adopted these principles as part of its business philosophy.

FIRSTLY -- On receipt of materials:
Materials are inspected and measured on arrival to try and eliminate delays when the non-conformance is only found at time of manufacture - and materials have to be re-sourced.

SECONDLY -- At the start of every production run:
A "First Off" check on the product is performed by the Setters and the Quality Auditor to ensure that all the characteristics for the product meet specifications.
If the products do not pass inspection, corrections are made, and more samples submitted for another First Off check.

FINALLY-- During the production run:
Accord uses Statistical Process Control (SPC) system with regular measurement of selected characteristics and tolerances that give a reliable indication of how the overall process is performing. Measurements are entered directly, on the production floor, into the SPC system using digital instruments and the data displayed onto real time control charts.
Any variations in the process are noted and corrective action taken before the process can go out of control and inferior components are produced.
The SPC data is maintained on the computer and an SPC report on the production run is printed and sent with the goods, if the customer so requests.

This attention to our customer quality needs has enabled them to use a "Just in Time" stock control system and dispense with or use minimal inwards goods inspection.

Accord fosters long term, trusting relationships with both customers and suppliers and this has led to a mutual understanding of the business needs of all parties involved in producing a cost effective quality part.

Machine tolerances and capabilities are areas continually under scrutiny in order to ensure that only products of the highest quality are produced. Traceability is a major concern to most businesses these days, and to this end our software, batch control, physical procedures and processes will guarantee that we are fully able to support our customers in this most critical area.
Every raw material delivery is "binned" in it's own rack and the software tells the storeman which bin to pick from for each job.
